'Disease X' warning for the UK - Another Epidemic on the Horizon?
What is Disease X?
"Disease X symbolizes the knowledge that a significant global epidemic might be triggered by a bacterium currently unknown to cause human disease," claims the World Health Organization. Simply put, a potential disease that has not yet been discovered but could cause an endemic or pandemic.
Disease X 2022 - The Next Pandemic?
Prior to this, three cases of Lassa fever were reported in the UK in February, and a lineage of the H5 avian flu was discovered in a person in January of this year. Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever made its way to England in March thanks to a woman who had traveled back to the UK from central Asia. The UK is currently experiencing a new threat as cases of monkeypox are on the rise. There are now 2,100 cases of monkeypox in 42 countries, with 793 occurrences in the UK. There have been no documented deaths outside of Africa.
The continent has so far reported more than 1,500 cases and 72 suspected deaths in a separate pandemic; up until last month, monkeypox had only produced sizable outbreaks in central and west Africa. In order to control monkeypox, vaccines have never been utilized in Africa.

Nevertheless, the UK Health officials have not yet identified any cases of polio, which paralyses youngsters. The danger was deemed to be minimal by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) due to the high vaccination rate.
